PLAN FOR FALL ORIENTATION AND THEN SPRING CAMPS TO RECAP THE YEARS SUCCESSES
Our Mission: Mountain Trails provides superior programming for youth and adults that will challenge them to reach new levels of personal achievement while emphasizing teamwork, trust, responsibility, accountability and leadership.
Mountain Trails is unique in that we design camps for groups in the area of teambuilding and leadership. If you have a group of students that need to address needs like respect (something we are lacking in today’s society ), effective communication, trust, goal/objective orientation, etc. then we could help you with issues you are dealing with, or needs you have in the classroom setting, Mountain Trails can help in an outdoor setting getting the students attention through problem solving obstacles that require physical involvement. You would be able to tell us what you need and we plan your day camp or overnight camps with your goals for your class in mind.
Teachers Orientation: We have had teacher groups come in the years beginning to bond and learn about each other's strengths for the year to come before school starts. (Generally in August. ) The principal and the teachers, get to know each other better and new teachers bond with the group. The knowledge of each other's strengths help with netwrking with each other throughout the school year.
Imagine yourself, with your group in a pristine, rustic, beautiful, cool, mountain setting, working out low ropes problem solving obstacles, learning the strengths of the group and also areas that need work in each student’s processing. We have been told by teachers and therapists, that they can learn more in a day or two observing the thinking processes of a student than they can learn in six months in a more formal office or classroom setting. The students walls ome down more easily in the outdoor problem solving situation.
We are located in the Alamosa Canyon, 30 miles southwest of Monte Vista, Colorado. Camp physical address is 41450 Forest Service Road #250 (also called 12 South.) 9 miles east of Jasper.
Another added benefit is that the students bond with teachers as well as fellow students when the student group is involved with the group in a fun setting.
Mountain Trails has worked with regular students and at risk students for 20 years and we feel we can be an added avenue of support for helping young people gain tools to help them stay in school and gain some social and personal skills.

Homeschoolers- This is a good opportunity to plan a camp for homeschoolers in your area. A good opportunity to have fun with other homeschoolers and for parents to meet each other and have outdoor guided experiences.
Let’s work together to help our youth overcome peer pressure to make personal choices that will enhance and enrich their lives.
